The watch is made from stainless steel and polished to a beautiful luster. However, the aesthetic aspect of the watch is as important as the practical one – the screw down case-back and the crown are meant to protect the watch movement from water and ensure water-resistance. In order to make the Baume & Mercier CapeLand Quartz Chronograph watch suitable for diving, the company’s watchmakers have designed a unidirectional rotating bezel which allows the diver to see how long he has been underwater. This bezel can turn only counterclockwise so in case of any accidental rotation underwater the time measured is longer, rather than shorter, than the actual elapsed time.
The round case surrounds the dial of the watch featuring the date display window at 3 o’clock and three sub dials at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Those counters display the 12-hour and 30-minute time, as well as the seconds. A pair of large sword-shaped hands marks the time. Due to their luminous coating, the time can be read even in the dark. A strong scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The Baume & Mercier CapeLand Quartz Chronograph watch is offered in a number of versions. The watch comes with a silver dial with black chronograph sub-dials, as well as with a black dial with white counters. It is mostly offered with a matching stainless steel bracelet, secured by a triple-deployant clasp, but a black synthetic strap is also available.

For this chronograph, fashion Baume & Mercier watch has designed a new fluted case in black satin-finished and sand-blasted PVD-coated steel, accentuated by profiled push-pieces and driven by a mechanical self-winding movement. Screwed down to guarantee perfect water-resistance to 200 meters, the case-back is fitted with a triangular-shaped opening revealing the oscillating weight adorned with “Côtes de Genève”.
The black dial is enlivened by riveted “appliqué” rhodium-plated hour-markers coated with Superluminova®*, along with luminescent hollowed hands ensuring optimal readability.
The fluted screw-down crown is adorned with the Phi symbol. The date appears at 6 o’clock, the chronograph at 3 o’clock (minutes) and the small seconds at 9 o’clock.

In June last year four new Baume & Mercier watches were added to their Classima Executives collection. The new models were all-steel variations with polished/brushed-satin bracelets that complemented previous models in the collection, which were available exclusively with alligator leather straps.
To see in a new year, and a new decade, Baume & Mercier have added yet another model to their prestigious Classima Executives collection, the Classima Executives XL chronograph with complete calendar.
In keeping with the style of the Executives collection, this chronograph is traditionally finished, and is equipped with a high-end mechanical self-winding movement driving indications of a complete calendar. The date is displayed with central pointer in 18-carat red gold, the day and month can be seen through a window that is located at 12 o’clock, and a window indicating the phases of the moon is located at 6 o’clock. There is also a 24h indicator located at 9 o’clock.
To the front, the silver-coloured dial has a grain d’orge guilloché decoration, with circular snailed and sun satin-finished counters. To the back, the case-back reveals an oscillating weight and the engraved words ‘Côtes de Genève’.
The Baume & Mercier emblem, the Greek letter Phi, typically appears as the brand’s signature on the crown.

The classically shaped round case measures 42mm in diameter, plenty of space to include all the great features offered on the watch. Its silvered dial features a stamped “grain d’orge” guilloche pattern at center and a satin silvered surface on the outer section. The sub dials on the watch have a concentric circle pattern at the chronograph counters. The brand has chosen to use leaf-shaped hands in an oxidized black finish as indicators.
The Extra Large Chronograph is animated by the ETA-Valjoux 7751 caliber self-winding mechanical movement, one that was based upon the legendary 7750 caliber movement. In a rather untraditional move for the brand, you can control the start, stop, and return to zero operations of the chronograph via cam switching rather than a column wheel. The movement allows for a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. All the fine details of the movement are visible through the transparent sapphire exhibition window in the case back. The watch has been carefully crafted to offer a water resistance that is rated for 30 meters. The Classima Executives XL Chronograph Complete Calendar timepiece is completed by an alligator leather strap with a polished stainless steel folding clasp displaying the Replica Baume & Mercier Watch signature.
